Sports

Sports at Springdales has always inculcated the spirit of team-work and sportsmanship in students and brought together thousands of them while promoting physical and emotional well-being. Our students enjoyed the online aerobics and yoga classes. It gave them a break from the monotony of screen time. And as the pandemic situation began to improve students took part in sports events and also won many laurels.

More than 500 students from the Junior and Senior School attend the Morning Coaching Sessions for various sports. Many have won laurels in Sports at the inter-school, zonal, state, national and international levels.

Throughout the year, Springdalians participated in various indoor and outdoor events, including basketball, football, chess, shooting, skating as well as athletics, winning laurels and accolades.

Prioritising the physical fitness of young students, the school organised activities and a fitness run for all classes around the school campus. We were declared as a FIT INDIA school by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

We are delighted to announce the achievements of our swimming champion Bhavya Sachdeva who has brought laurels to the school and has made her country proud in National and International competitions.

She is the current National Record holder.

She represented India in the Thailand Age Group Swimming Championship and won the bronze medal, breaking her own best time record.

She also won accolades in the Junior Nationals 2022 at Bhubaneshwar, the Senior Nationals at Guwahati and at the National Games.

Bhavya also won 4 gold medals at the Khelo India Women Series in Lucknow.

She is currently training to qualify for the Asian Games 2023.

The senior boys Arnav Arora, Pratyaksh Jain, Arnav Rathi, Lanchen Murray, junior girls Anvi Duggal, Trisha Barakoti, Aishmeen Kaur and sub-junior girls Saima Makol, Anika Khumbat and Yashita Nagpal won bronze in the Badminton Zonals at Bal Bharti Ganga Ram.

In the North Delhi District Badminton Tournament, Tushit Sachdeva secured the second and third positions in the under 19 and under 17 categories respectively.

Arnav Gupta received a gold medal at the badminton championship organized by Dropshot Badminton Academy.

Kaustav Gulati secured the top position at the Dynamos Badminton Tournament.

Niroy Chadha won the bronze medal at the 1500m and 3000m races of the junior boys zonal athletic competition.

Our chess grand masters, Moksha Punn, Arnav Wasan, Maanik Gandhi and Vivaan Anand did us proud bagging the second position at the senior zonal chess tournament held at RSVV Sindhi school; Sahib Singh Suri, Gobind Singh, Aakarsh Narula and Pranav Rangwani won the third spot in the junior category.

In another brilliant display Mishika Mathur, Samaira Jain and Kashvi Juneja won the first prize at the Annual Chess Zonal Tournaments in the junior girls category. Mishika Mathur was adjudged the winner of the state level chess championship in the girls under 14 category. She was awarded with a trophy and was selected to represent Delhi at the national level.

Samaira Jain won the second position in the under 11 category at the Matrix Chess Tournament. She also secured the Runners Up trophy at an Open Chess Tournament. Yashvardhan Singh was part of the winning team at the 8th Sports Cricket Cup in the under 12 category.

It was a joyous moment for all of us when our senior and sub junior basketball teams secured Runners Up at the senior Basketball zonal tournament at Bal Bharti Ganga Ram.

Our ace shooter Avni Agarwal won a gold medal at the Delhi State Open Shooting Championship.

It was a matter of great pride that Saina Chowdhary won silver in the first DSA open shooting championship in the under 12 sitting category and a bronze in the standing category.

Sana Bhatia won the silver medal at the figure ice skating championship in the under 15 category held at ISA.

Anirudh Mandal won the third position in the athletic competition held at R. P School.

Krishiv Jaitley received a gold medal and was adjudged champion at the 9th State Level Karate competition.

Pravit Gulati bagged a bronze medal at the National Taekwondo Championship.

Vishrut Singh emerged as a Sparkling Player and was part of the winning team at the Summer Football League.
