The students of class XI- C along with social workers, Miss Jahnavi Yadav and Mrs. Tripti Malhotra visited the Dasghara and Todapur, the adopted community of Springdales School on 30 October 2033 for Ration distribution and Dussehra celebrations. The program commenced with an exploration of the cultural and historical significance of Dussehra, followed by a scripted play delving into the ten evils of Ravana.

Adding an interactive dimension to the event, students engaged the grans in a well-crafted quiz on the cultural nuances associated with Dussehra. It was amusing to see the grans answering the questions.

The presentation reached its end with a soul-stirring musical performance. Closing the event on a joyous note, our grans unfolded a kirtan session. They prompted students to dance to the beats of their kirtans, making the celebration of Dussehra a truly holistic experience for everyone present. The students of Interact Club and std. XI B visited Dasghara and Todapur, the adopted community of Springdales School along with Mrs. Sonam Sachdeva and Mrs. Charandeep Kaur on the 25th of August 2023 for Rakhi Celebration and Ration Distribution. The students presented a contemporary dance which was enjoyed by all. This was followed by a poem recitation by Ishaan. The grannies also presented a folk song on rakhi. A blood donation camp was organized in collaboration with Red Cross Society and Maheshwari Sabha, Delhi Central Zone in the school premises on Sunday, 20th August in Dr. Rajni Kumar Hall of Celebration.

Students of Interact club participated in registration and also guided the donors at each step. The donors were given certificates, donor’s card and refreshments.

It was a good come back for the Social work department post pandemic to revive this annual initiative. For event gallery Click here

32 students from the Interact Club visited Dasghara, Todapur, along with Mrs. Sonam Sachdeva and Ms. Ria Subroi on August 1, 2023. Each student was assigned a granny to interact and bond with in this intergenerational programme. The students interacted and drafted the comprehensive profile for their granny. The session ended with the volunteers distributing the ration, followed by a group photograph.

This was an “eye-opening experience”, as stated by one of the students of grade XI. Students were happy and felt touched to connect with their grannies who were full of zeal. Grannies blessed our students and they returned to school more sensitised and empathetic looking forward to the next visit. For event gallery Click here
